Ride the Scenic Roads of Talbot County, Maryland!
Experience the Eastern Shore’s most scenic and historic region by bike. The Tour de Talbot offers you a day to remember. Take a picturesque ride past sunny farm fields, through quaint 17th- and 18th-century towns, and along country roads offering tempting glimpses of the area’s many waterways. Stop for ice cream (if you like) in Oxford, take a 7-minute ride across the Tred Avon River on the nation’s oldest privately operated Oxford-Bellevue Ferry, then head back to the starting point (with a chance for 62 milers to first cross the popular Tunis Mills wooden bridge) to enjoy a relaxing lunch, good conversation, and a couple of brews!
Three SAG-supported distance rides are available—30, 40, or 62.5 miles—all of which include at least two rest stops where friendly volunteers will help you recharge with an array of snacks, fruit, and beverages.
Windy Hill Landing is not a rest stop this year, but you may take an optional “jog” to the ferry landing for a photo opp.
